Production of fertiliser, energy and electricity from wastewater from cabin ships, as well as an update on shore power

Graduate Engineer Dr. Harald Beutl is an expert in integrative development projects at viadonau. In his presentation, he introduces a globally innovative system for recovering energy, water, and nutrients from ship- and building-related wastewater and food waste. The FFG-funded project is being implemented in viadonau’s new floating building at Vienna’s Handelskai and explores opportunities for recovering energy, water and nutrients in building operations and on board cabin vessels. Beutl also provides an update on the current state of shore-side electricity supply for cruise vessels along the Austrian Danube.
