Danube Cycle Path

Pure cycling pleasure over 350 kilometres

The Danube Cycle Path offers a wealth of experiences: discover unique landscapes, historic old towns, modern cultural sites, regional specialities and the stimulating contrast between nature and culture along the Danube from the Bavarian-Upper Austrian border in Schärding and Passau via Linz and Krems to Vienna and on via Carnuntum and the Danube Floodplains National Park to Bratislava!

Did you know?

The Danube Cycle Path runs along the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Danube Limes and is part of the Eurovelo 6 route, which runs from the Atlantic Ocean via France and the German Danube to Austria and then on to the Black Sea. With its barely noticeable inclines, it is particularly suitable for families and leisure cyclists. From Passau to Vienna, it runs largely along both banks of the river and offers cycling enthusiasts variety and a different highlight every day.

Cycling along the Danube Cycle Path

Those who want to really get into the flow can experience the Austrian Danube region on the Danube Cycle Path. It is the classic among cycle paths, breathing the history of millennia and at the same time keeping pace with the times. Exciting landscapes such as the Schlögen Danube Loop and the romantic Wachau UNESCO World Heritage Site are just as appealing as city experiences in Passau, Linz, Krems and Vienna. The excellent infrastructure, numerous bed+bike establishments and bike service and rental points guarantee comfortable cycling trips.
