Professor Andreas Farnleitner holds dual professorships in Microbiology and Water Quality at Vienna University of Technology and Karl Landsteiner University, and is co-head of ICC Water & Health. He presents an interdisciplinary study on the microbiological water quality of the Danube. In collaboration with authorities, he analyzes the impact of shipping on fecal contamination and emphasizes the crucial role of proper wastewater disposal and modern treatment plants for water protection.
