Mahart Ports for sustainability (26.11.)

Can human actions actually support environmental sustainability, or are we forced to exploit resources? Since ceasing business operations is not feasible, the solution lies in “doing less damage” to the environment while paying attention to sustainability. MAHART Ports, an important provider of international and public ports in Hungary, is committed to this vision. As Marketing Manager at MAHART-Passnave, Mihály Tóth discusses the current sustainability initiatives and future development plans.

Overtourism & Moorings in Hungary (27.11.)

The 2nd lecture by Mihály Tóth addresses the pressing issue of overtourism: he focuses on Budapest and examines solutions that mitigate the effects of overtourism on the city's waterfront. A key initiative is the Duna-parti Építési Szabályzat (DÉSZ), a new regulatory framework developed by Budapest city leaders. This regulation is scheduled to come into force on January 1, 2025 and aims to balance tourism growth with sustainable development along the Danube, thereby shaping the future of berthing and port management in Hungary.
